For those seeking escape in their leisure time, it is becoming impossible to take up a new hobby without an enormous initial investment in equipment, supplies, and time. Fledgling Foundry is VR training platform focusing specifically on pre-industrial production techniques, providing a simulated environment where the user can experience practices from the perspective of a master of a trade in short intervals at their leisure. Within VR, the entire process of pre-industrial trades are replicated with the first lessons focused on metal & iron forging, textile development, rope making, knot work, sewing, leather working. Short, daily lessons of only 10 to 15 minutes, most individuals will not experience the dreaded simulator-sickness while accumulating growth in their chosen skill. VR’s ability to be viewed from any perspective/angle will allow the student to work from the perspective of the master craftsperson, overcoming many of the hurdles in learning.
